That's no exaggeration: good advertising, like the placing of "classified ads" or simply "classifieds", is the lifeblood of each and every website! This is especially important for commercial websites like online stores and malls, for which organic search engine traffic does only part of the job. Advertising your site in the right places, in the right way and at the right time, not only increases its number of visitors, but also helps your sites score higher in the search engines! If used correctly (and on the right sites!), classified ads produce "link juice" in the form of quality backlinks to your sites.
On this page I present you with some of my own advertising sites, which are mainly dedicated to classified ads. Classified ads or classifieds are a cheap, often indeed free, way to promote all kinds of products including websites. The two sites linked to in the banners below, I usually call "my pet classifieds": they bring me traffic, improve my search rankings on account of their quality backlinks and... they're totally free! I've never met a man or a woman who didn't love "free"!

World-Free-Ads has an unusual but very pleasing option: you decide whether your ads are "free" or "cheap"! All classifieds run for a year (renewable), and after you've posted them you have the choice whether to hit the pay button or not, and if you choose to hit it's you again who decides how much to pay for a year's run. Well now: any more user-friendly I can't really make it, can I (grin)?!

Jaaps Jolly World of Classifieds takes a different approach from World-Free-Ads, of course. The basic classifieds, running for either 7 or 15 days, are always free - but there's also an option for paid banner advertising. And on account of Jaaps Jolly World of Classifieds being part of an advertising network, you can also choose to place a network-wide classified ad.

How to effectively place free classifieds |

Our own pet classifieds sites are only two of literally thousands of free classified ads pages all over the web: doing a simple search for "free classified ads" on Google or any other major search engine will overwhelm you with much more than you need. In order to narrow down your search a bit you might add a category, like "free classified cars" or "free classified ads work at home moms" - leaving the quotation marks out, only putting them back when the results are too many. If a free classifieds site has the right category for your business, your classified ad will be more effective.
Writing your free classifieds is extremely simple. Use a short but descriptive headline/title. Keep your body text short, and take care that it makes sense: don't exaggerate, and don't promise the punters millions! At the end of your short ad, prompt the reader to action with an admonition like: "Visit our website right now!" It really is that simple, and on account of free classifieds being free (duh!), you can afford to experiment a bit.
